The gent’s prize giving was excellent way to celebrate many of the accomplishments our members have had this year.
Our very own Jim O’Neill was a standout player of the year, collecting 4 trophies including the J.P. Bruce Trophy, the Watson Trophy and the TSB Trophy. Ralph Wardlaw won the Spring Meeting Scratch trophy along with the Paul Lawrie competition held by the Links. Ralph also finished second in the Caledonia Club Championship after hard faught match. Comiserations Ralph! Gary Williamson won the R.L. Watson Trophy, the A.M. Harrison Trophy and the Taylor Trophy.
However, the most impressive season of all was performed by our new club champion – Andrew Fyfe! Andrew has won the club championship on 3 occasions now proving that he is the one for all of us to try and beat. What made Andrew’s year even more special is that he also won The Carnoustie Links Championship as well as the Craw’s Nest Tassie. The Carnoustie Links Championship sees top players from all of the golf clubs battle it out in order to get their hands on this coveted trophy. Another trophy Andrew is all too familiar of holding. The Craw’s Nest Tassie sees amateurs from all over the world meet at our great courses and compete to become a Champion of Carnoustie. Andrew showed that he could hold his nerve and proved that a little local knowledge always helps.
All those who attended had a great night with many family and friends coming together from different parts of the country to celebrate their loved ones victories. The food was excellent and the services from the bar staff was fantastic as always.
